An intersection, a pedestrian crossing, blocking exits or other vehicles—it is not a problem, as long as the car gets parked. The explanation is usually the same: “I’ll only be a moment,” “I was in a hurry.” But that does not excuse failing to think about others. Thoughtless parking very often causes traffic disruptions, restricts visibility or makes it difficult for pedestrians to use a crossing. Police officers respond firmly to such behavior.
Here is yesterday’s example: a 42-year-old woman from Lubin parked her car on a pedestrian crossing. After some time, she returned. Asked why she had parked illegally, she stated that she had… been at the beautician’s. The additional cost of the visit was a PLN 300 fine and 1 penalty point. The woman avoided further costs because the officers canceled the roadside assistance service that was supposed to tow the improperly parked vehicle.
Road traffic police officers warn: every illegally parked car that creates a danger to road traffic will be towed to a parking lot, and its owner—in addition to the towing costs—will also have to face a fine.
