Pursuant to Article 162 § 1 of the Act of 27 July 2001, the Law on the System of Common Courts (consolidated text from 2015, items 133 and 509), candidates for lay judges may be nominated to municipal councils by the presidents of the competent courts, associations, other social and professional organisations registered under the law, excluding political parties, as well as by at least fifty citizens with active voting rights who permanently reside in the municipality conducting the election.
The deadline for submitting candidates expires on 30 June 2015.
