The crimes took place in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. As police officers established, a 42-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County broke into a shop and stole, among other things, alcohol, cigarettes and electronic grave candles. The owner estimated the losses at PLN 1,400.
The following night, the perpetrator returned to the scene of the crime and once again tried to break into the same retail outlet. However, he was startled and decided to hide... in nearby bushes. He decided to wait there until he could commit another theft. He did not succeed—he was detained.
The officers recovered the stolen property, which will be handed over to its owner.
The 42-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
