This year's symposium was attended by 22 artists. In August, the sculptors held three meetings with the residents of Bolesławiec, and the artists also took part in a full-day tour of the Nysa Euroregion. As part of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival, the symposium participants organized a ceramic happening in the town square.
The results of the artists' work will be available to see in December. "This year, due to the renovation of the gallery, the post-symposium exhibition will be held at the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec," says Ewa Zbroja, director of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre.
Presenting the exhibition in Bolesławiec is not, however, the organizers' main objective. They want the sculptures to be exhibited in galleries abroad. Last year, works created during the symposium could be viewed, among other places, in Prague and Dresden.
"We hope that this year the exhibition will be invited to the Polish Institute in Leipzig. Our friends from Nogent sur Marne and Siegburg are also interested in it, so everything indicates that the exhibition will be shown in several places abroad," adds Ewa Zbroja.
The first stage of the 42nd International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium concluded with a joint meeting of the artists and organizers.
The project "42nd International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium – Art Beyond Borders" is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Community Initiative Programme Interreg IIIA Czech Republic–Poland in the Nysa Euroregion, as well as from the state budget.
