The Spartakiad was held at the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military Academy of Land Forces in Wrocław. The tournament was organised by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship OHP Headquarters in Wrocław and the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military Academy of Land Forces in Wrocław.
The standard of the Spartakiad was very high, while the competition was numerous and strong. First, the young people from Lower Silesia had to overcome, as quickly as possible, obstacles at the Physical Fitness Centre: a well, a ditch, a fence, a mushroom-shaped obstacle and a wall over a moat. The exercises had to be completed not only as quickly as possible, but also accurately, because the judge could order a given task to be repeated, resulting in lost time.
After completing the Physical Fitness Centre course, the competitors had to cover a 3-kilometre route against the clock. Stations had been set up along it, and the competitors had to complete them to collect as many points as possible. One station was a medical point, where they had to identify an injury suffered by a casualty and then dress the wound.
The next task was throwing a grenade at a target, followed by a logistics point where the competitors had to correctly pitch a military-style tent. During the run, they had to change a wheel on an off-road vehicle, detect five designated targets in the field and demonstrate their knowledge of traffic regulations by completing a test. At the end of the course, the participants took part in a shooting competition in which, firing an air rifle, the team had to score as many points as possible by hitting silhouette targets.
– After overcoming such demanding challenges, our Bolesławiec team took third place!!! – says Małgorzata Wąsik, a supervisor at the Bolesławiec Voluntary Labour Corps. – The boys performed fantastically. They were brave, courageous and wisely completed the entire route. We are proud of our team, which performed excellently.
