On Tuesday, students from Bolesławiec primary and lower-secondary schools received scholarships for academic results and other achievements in the 2005/2006 school year. Scholarships have been awarded for three years in two categories: for academic results and for outstanding achievements in science, art or sport.

This year, the city mayor awarded scholarships to sixteen students. The award ceremony was held in the Council Chamber. Scholarships for academic results were received by: Aleksandra Prokowska (Primary School No. 1), Sylwia Duru (Primary School No. 2), Aleksandra Bojanowska (Primary School No. 2), Patrycja Kowalczyk (Primary School No. 3), Karolina Stachów (Municipal School Complex No. 1, Primary School No. 5), Robert Mróz (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2), Anna Jankowska (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2), Mateusz Grzybowski (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 3), Karolina Kulczycka (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 3).

Scholarships for outstanding achievements in science, art or sport were received by: Katarzyna Jankowska (Primary School No. 4), Karolina Radka (Primary School No. 4), Maks Brandt (Primary School No. 4), Miłosz Roztoczyński (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2), Wiktor Niezgodziński (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2), Przemysław Juda (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2), Piotr Biernat (Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 3).

The scholarships ranged from PLN 500 to PLN 1,600. This year, the total amount allocated by the Mayor of Bolesławiec for academic scholarships is PLN 19,400. The scholarship is paid in four instalments in September, October, November and December. Those present at the academic scholarship award ceremony included city secretary Jerzy Zieliński, head of the social affairs department Krystyna Boratyńska, school principals and the parents of students achieving excellent results in science, art or sport.
