On Wednesday, June 3, a session of the Bolesławiec City Council took place. During the Council meeting, Dariusz Filistyński spoke, mentioning a happening by German communists that took place in our city on May 9 (we wrote about it in the article: German Communists in Bolesławiec). “It was simply a communist demonstration with symbols banned in Poland [radnemu chodziło przede wszystkim o sierp i młot – przyp „ii”],” said D. Filistyński. “We know that the secretary, Jerzy Zieliński, was there and tried to intervene.

The councillor also asked several questions: “Who was responsible for leaving this column at the roadblock on Mickiewicza Street for 40 minutes? Why was permission granted for the communists to travel through Bolesławiec, since the City of Wrocław did not issue such permission? Shouldn’t the organizers be brought before a court for offending the feelings of Poles who fought against the totalitarianism of the communist regime?”

Piotr Roman merely replied that he was not in Bolesławiec at that time (he was on leave). “The police in Wrocław decided differently, while the police in Bolesławiec decided otherwise,” the mayor pointed out. “The police behaved differently in different places, and in such matters a uniform position would be useful.”
