Everything began at 9:00 a.m. at the Orlik sports complex with a football tournament for classes III, IV, V and IV. The teams consisted of both boys and girls. The boys played the first half of the match, while the girls played the second half. During the tournament games, a tug-of-war competition was also organized for all the teams. The trophies, prizes and sweets for the teams were presented by the director of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec, Eliza Szwed, and the director of the Bolesław Chrobry Primary School in Nowogrodziec, Władysław Tomaszewski.
The second part of the celebration for all children began at 11:00 a.m. in the square next to the Municipal and Communal Social Welfare Centre. The ceremony was officially opened by the mayor of Nowogrodziec, Robert Relich, and the head of MGOPS, Anna Lityńska.
Here, too, attractions and surprises awaited the children. All the children enjoyed inflatable castles, a shooting range and face painting. Everyone also feasted on delicious pea soup and sausages from the campfire. There was also a display of military equipment from a military unit in Bolesławiec and a Nowogrodziec Municipal Guard vehicle. Many games and activities were held during the event, and a specially invited band provided music for dancing until 5:00 p.m.
The organizers of the Municipal Children’s Day celebration were the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec, the Municipal and Communal Social Welfare Centre in Nowogrodziec, the Bolesław Chrobry Primary School in Nowogrodziec and the Municipal Office in Nowogrodziec. The football tournament was supported by the “Chrobry” Nowogrodziec Municipal Sports Club.
