On the last day of August, work related to the illumination of the railway viaduct was completed. It is lit by 58 compact projectors installed on the inner sides of the bridge’s pillars. The railway viaduct is another historic monument in Bolesławiec to receive illumination.

The following have been illuminated so far: the Kutuzov Monument, the Museum of Ceramics, the Marian Sanctuary of the Assumption of the Mother of the Church, the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Zamkowy Square, the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary at Ceramiczna Street, and the courthouse building.

The viaduct illumination cost nearly PLN 180,000. The bridge lighting was installed by the Bolesławiec-based company Elektros.

The Bolesławiec viaduct is 490 m long, 26 m high and 8 m wide, making it one of the longest structures of its kind in Europe. The bridge over the Bóbr was built in 1844–46 under the direction of Engelhardt Gansel. In addition to its practical function, the viaduct is a major tourist attraction not only for the city but also for the region.
