The duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters received a report of a locomotive being burgled. At a railway signal box near the town of Obora, security guards caught a 30-year-old resident of Lubin in the act. He had broken into the fuel tank of a diesel locomotive by unscrewing two bolts securing the hasp, and then used a rubber hose to drain 50 litres of diesel fuel from the tank.
The losses amounted to approximately PLN 230. The 30-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
