This year, the “Blues nad Bobrem” music workshops were not organized. There were also no other events connected with the festival, including the Blues Band Review and the Final Concert. Many people who had previously been involved with the festival were saddened by this, so they organized a free, one-day music workshop themselves. The idea arose on the discussion forum of Wojtek Pilichowski, one of Poland’s better-known bass guitarists, who regularly performs with the bands of Kasia Kowalska and Jan Bo. In addition to Pilichowski, other instructors came to Bolesławiec: Marek Raduli, Radek Owczarz, Krzysztof Misiak, Jacek Królik, Zbigniew Lewandowski, Artur Lesicki and Maciek Mazurek. About 50 workshop participants signed up. Classes were held in bass guitar, electric guitar and drums. There were also lectures on harmony, reading musical notation and playing in a rhythm section.
In the evening, a Jam Session was held at Opałkowa Chata. The instructors and workshop participants played. The concert began after 7:00 p.m. and lasted until 1:00 a.m.
According to Pilichowski and the other artists, this year’s music workshop is intended to support the organizers’ enthusiasm for holding the event in the years to come.
