Traffic police officers checked, among other things, whether drivers were complying with speed limits and travelling on the roads in accordance with the regulations in force.

Let us recall that new regulations were already in force on the second day of the operation, including those concerning compliance with speed limits in built-up areas.

On the first day of the operation, officers from the Traffic Department recorded 74 offences (speeding violations) on the roads of Bolesławiec County. On the second day, only 28 drivers were penalised.

For comparison: throughout Lower Silesia, 739 such offences were recorded on 17 May. The following day, there were 678 (in six cases, this resulted in the loss of a driving licence for three months because the drivers exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h).

Did drivers—aware that the regulations had become stricter—take their foot off the accelerator? Is this only a temporary phenomenon, with everything returning to “normal” in a few days or weeks? We encourage you to take part in the poll.
