Our mission is to make the world a better place by reducing suffering and promoting humanitarian values. Each of us contributes to saving people’s lives. We make sure that our assistance provides long-term and stable development for regions affected by war or natural disasters.
The motto of Polish Humanitarian Action employees quoted above applies to all aid initiatives carried out in every corner of the world where help is needed. PAH’s activities are not limited to Nepal; they also include:
- Somalia, where PAH has been implementing a water and sanitation project and providing assistance to internally displaced people since 2012
- South Sudan, where a water and sanitation project has been implemented in cooperation with CARITAS since 2012, along with the distribution of non-food emergency supplies
- the Philippines, where PAH has been present since 2013, providing assistance to the populations of islands devastated by a cyclone
- Haiti – where we have been providing assistance since the devastating earthquake that struck the country in 2010
- the Gaza Strip – where PAH has been implementing a project since 2006 to provide residents with access to drinking water and education
- Syria – where, since 2012, PAH has provided residents of a refugee camp with food (in cooperation with a local bakery), medical assistance, blankets and cleaning supplies
- Afghanistan – where PAH is implementing a long-term project and seeks to provide people with access to water and sanitation as well as education, so that people do not have to choose between fetching water and going to school
- Ukraine – where, since 2014, more than 1 255 680 thousand people have been displaced and more than 600 000 have been forced to flee the area of fighting – PAH provides displaced people and refugees with medical assistance, food and cleaning supplies.
PAH also operates in Poland, focusing primarily on the PAJACYK child-feeding program, through which it provides children with meals at schools and community centers during the year. In 2014/2015, the assistance covered 87 institutions throughout Poland.
By organizing yet another charity concert in Zgorzelec (the previous one took place on 1 October 2011), we wanted to confirm that our city is not short of people who help make the world a better place.
We warmly invite everyone who shares our outlook to take part in the Charity Concert for PAH. The concert is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Zgorzelec.
The concert will be accompanied by a photo exhibition by Maciej Moskwa entitled “Syria: Cut Off by War”.
