Twenty-eight soldiers took part in the competition. In their military units, they hold calculator positions as part of their official staffing. The competition began on Tuesday, 12 May 2015, with the participants’ assembly and an introduction to the regulations, the examination committee and the assessment criteria for the individual stages.

The competition was opened by Colonel Jacek Narloch, who, on behalf of the head of the Missile and Artillery Branch, welcomed the attending soldiers and wished them the best possible final results. The competition committee verified the participants’ identities in accordance with their starting cards and the positions they held.

On Wednesday morning, 13 May, the soldiers began the practical assessment of their knowledge. The competition tasks included determining settings for effective fire using the PUO-9 Fire Control Device, determining plane rectangular coordinates, preparing a calculation correction sheet and determining topographical data.
The committee (comprising chairman Maj. Ireneusz Jankowski and members Maj. Jarosław Piersa, Capt. Dariusz Lasowski, Capt. Edward Chyła and Senior Warrant Officer Jacek Ruciński) presented the winners after checking all the tasks and totaling the points.

The best calculator of the Land Forces was Senior Private Piotr Knyszek from the 23rd Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec. Senior Private Kamil Tyszko from the 11th Artillery Regiment in Węgorzewo took second place, while Senior Private Michał Czeszun from the 21st Podhale Rifle Brigade came third.
