Legnica Cantat is one of the oldest and most prestigious choir tournaments in Poland. This year, it will run from Friday (22 May) to Sunday (24 May). However, choral music will already be heard in Legnica from 18 May (Monday). On that day, the Madrygał choir of the Legnica Culture Centre will provide musical accompaniment during the evening Mass at 6:30 p.m. in the Cathedral, and will give a short concert after the Mass.
On 19 May (Tuesday), from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., street performances and activities will take place in the Market Square, featuring children’s and youth choirs from Legnica, the Youth Wind Orchestra of the Legnica Culture Centre and artists from Teatr Avatar.
On 20 May (Wednesday), from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., children’s choirs from LCK will sing on city buses (routes 15, 8, 24, 3 and 6), while from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the young choristers will perform in front of Galeria Piastów. They will be accompanied by dancers from the Bessali group.
Meanwhile, on 21 May (Thursday) street activities related to the cantat will take place in the Market Square, featuring Teatr Avatar (4:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.) and dancers from Bessali (5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.).
From 19 May (Tuesday), the information point next to Galeria Satyrykon will provide access to the detailed programme of events. The point will be open until Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..
