In his very first competition, Tomasz Markowski’s protégé Kacper Olszewski achieved the qualifying standard for the European Junior Championships, which will take place from 16 to 19 July in the Swedish town of Eskilstuna, throwing the 6-kilogram shot 18.71 m (the PZLA standard was 18.20 m).
“I knew I was in good form, and achieving the standard required to compete in the European Championships would be a formality,” Kacper said. “It is clear that the hard work at the club and at National Team training camps is paying off. Now I can calmly prepare for this year’s European Junior Championships. It is great to know that my successes are helping more and more boys and girls begin training at the club.”
