Several dozen people signed a letter to the city mayor expressing concern that the centre’s former deputy director, Iwona Bojko, would no longer hold a managerial position. They believe that Iwona Bojko is responsible for the success of the Bolesławiec Film Discussion Club and are asking the mayor to keep her at BOK-MCC.
According to information provided by the BOK-MCC director, Iwona Bojko is on sick leave and has not received any notice of termination. She may return to work at any time.
We asked Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska for comment on the operation of the Film Discussion Club:
I would like to reassure lovers of good cinema and assure you that I care greatly about maintaining the Bolesławiec Film Discussion Club at the highest possible level. Ms Bojko is currently on sick leave. The DKF programme has been created for years by Mr Ireneusz Wojtków. He will continue to create it, because I employ him and am satisfied with his work. This month, 218 passes were sold for the films proposed as part of the DKF. In June, Mr Wojtków will present equally interesting films, to which we invite everyone together. I would also like to add that Mr Wojtków will lead the highly popular lectures and discussions held as part of the DKF. I would also like to inform you that during Ms Bojko’s absence, my employee Ewa Chrobot is handling promotion and registering teachers for the next Film Education project at BOK-MCC. Registration is open until September 2015. Film Education will continue at our cinema. This year, we are trying to attract secondary schools that had been absent for some time.
For 11 years, that is, since the club was reactivated, the istotne.pl portal has promoted the Bolesławiec Film Discussion Club. We have written about all the successes the club achieved thanks to the involvement of many people, including Ewa Zbroja, Iwona Bojko and Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska. However, the Film Discussion Club functions above all thanks to its viewers and for them BOK-MCC will continue preparing the best possible programme.
