On 12 May, the “Safe Six-Year-Old” tournament was held at Primary School No. 3 in Ścinawa. Five teams representing reception-year groups took part in the competition—four from schools and one from a kindergarten. The Lubin police headquarters also joined the tournament, appointing a police officer from the Traffic Division to the honorable role of jury member.

The children competed in a range of safety-related events: safety at home, contacts with strangers, road safety, and safety during trips and various outings. The teams had to answer numerous questions and act out situations such as: how to react when a stranger offers sweets; how to behave in the event of a fire; what to wear to be visible after dark; how to eat healthily; which telephone numbers to call in different emergency situations; and how to cross the road correctly.

Undoubtedly, it was a tournament testing knowledge and the ability to respond to dangers correctly and safely, but above all, it was great fun.
