The competition aims to recognize employers who create new jobs and those who hired the largest number of employees in 2014. Awards will be presented in five categories: small, medium-sized and large companies, as well as large industrial and manufacturing companies and large commercial and service companies.

“The situation on the labour market is getting better. As many as 16 million Poles are now working. This is the best result since 1989. We owe this success primarily to employers creating new jobs. In the competition, we recognize both small family businesses and large enterprises,” said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Labour and Social Policy.

What are the assessment criteria? The key factor is employment growth in the company. Additional points can be earned for hiring young employees under 30, people aged 50 and over, and people with disabilities. Employers’ reliability will also be assessed—including whether they employ workers under employment contracts.

“We value the number of jobs, but also their quality. Participation in training and an additional remuneration system also count in the competition,” added Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz.

How can you enter the competition? Complete the application form available at www.mpips.gov.pl/konkurs and send it to konkurs@mpips.gov.pl, mail it, or submit it in person at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (ul. Nowogrodzka 1/3/5, 00-513 Warszawa, with the note KONKURS KREATOR). Participation in the competition is free of charge.

“The competition is an opportunity to showcase good practices in employee relations, building the company’s organizational culture and the system of values that guides us. Participation is valuable experience for a company and proof of concern for non-business and socially responsible aspects,” said Zbigniew Stopa, president of the management board of Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka”. The company won last year’s competition in the category of large industrial and manufacturing enterprises.

“This is a very valuable distinction, especially as it was awarded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. This prestigious award motivates us to take further action. We do not work for awards and accolades, but every distinction makes us want to be better each following day,” said Paweł Lachowicz, president of the management board of the Spytkowo Municipal Waste Disposal Plant. The company received the Job Creator award in 2014 in the category of micro and small enterprises.

Minister of Labour and Social Policy Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will present the awards to employers during a formal gala in June. The competition winners will receive the right to use the title “Job Creator” and the competition logo for one year.

The competition jury included representatives of trade unions and employers’ organizations.
