In June last year, an unknown perpetrator broke a window in one of the rural community centers in the Rudna municipality. The perpetrator was not identified, and the owner had to pay for the damage caused. Police officers from the local station worked on the case throughout this time. Despite the considerable time that had passed since the incident, they did not forget about it and continued taking steps to identify and detain the vandal.

As a result of operational work and based on the information gathered, officers came across the trail of a man who might have been responsible for the property damage. Further actions confirmed the police findings. Yesterday, they detained the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of the Rudna municipality.

The officers established that the detained man had been drinking alcohol with his friends. At one point, the men bet a beer that one of them would break the window in the community center. The detained man “won” the bet.

He will now answer for his actions before the court. The crime of damaging property is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. In addition, the injured party may pursue their rights concerning the repair of the damage caused.
