The development of this form of mountain biking is truly impressive. New technical solutions in bicycles, collections of clothing, helmets and other accessories. There is obviously also strong demand for competitions, but there are still not many of them in our country. Moreover, no one has yet organised an event in the on sight format, meaning a competition without prior knowledge of the route.

The pioneers will be the team of Grzegorz Miedziński, which has organised cross-country events for many years, including the Polish and World Academic Championships and the “Eliminator MTB” city sprint series. The event in question, the “Przesieka Enduro MTB Series”, will take place from 26 to 28 June in Przesieka near Jelenia Góra. The mountain trails there, full of stones and slippery roots, are virtually an ideal venue for an enduro cycling competition.

Riding on sight will certainly provide many unforgettable experiences and plenty of adrenaline. It will be worth fighting for every second on the course, as the organisers are providing electronic timekeeping with photocells at the start and finish, accurate to 0.01 seconds. Immediately after reaching the finish of a given special stage, a participant will be able to check their result online.

Furthermore, you will not complain about queues at the start of the special stages, as each competitor will be assigned a time slot in which they must set off on a given stage. During online registration, it will be possible to choose a starting group of 20 people. As for the classifications, the rules are fairly standard: women’s open, men’s open, men’s masters (over 40) and hardtail (for competitors riding bicycles with a rigid frame and no suspension). There will also be a team classification, determined by the combined times for completing all special stages achieved by the three highest-ranked competitors from each team, regardless of category or gender.

It is also worth mentioning the prize pool, which will include, among other things, BenQ cameras and video cameras, Endura clothing, helmets and protectors, Julbo glasses, Deuter backpacks, and Varta torches and power banks. A pretty great event is therefore in store... We will find out how the organisers perform on 27 June in Przesieka.
