The county authorities, together with the marshal’s office, are preparing the third scholarship program, aimed at students and pupils of upper-secondary schools from Bolesławiec County. It is worth applying for the scholarships because they are available to all students, regardless of age. The type of institution does not matter either. It may be a public or private school, and a student may study full-time, extramurally or in the evening.

The only condition for receiving a scholarship is meeting the income criterion. This year, it is PLN 504 per family member. Let us recall that a total of 1,094 pupils have already received scholarships. In the 2004/2005 school year, 477 pupils received assistance, and a year later, 617. More than one million zlotys was allocated for this purpose in total. This year, 590 people will receive assistance. The project cost was estimated at PLN 667,000. Another important change is that pupils will no longer have to collect receipts for purchased materials. Until now, this had caused the most problems with settling the expenses and paying out the money. Now, a statement from the school principal confirming that the money was spent appropriately will be sufficient.

Everyone applying for scholarships must know that they are intended as material assistance. This means that the scholarship can be used to buy, among other things, monthly passes, textbooks, educational aids, sports outfits and shoes for physical education classes, as well as whatever is needed for school. All information about the scholarships can be obtained from the education department of the county office by calling 075 735 18 77, 075 735 18 79 or 075 735 14 16.
