The “Call of the Ocean” project is a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean on a self-built, five-meter yacht. The eight-month expedition of Szymon Kuczyński and Dobrochna Nowak lasted from November 19, 2012, to July 19, 2013. It consisted of five stages.

According to the information held by the sailors, this vessel is the smallest Polish yacht to have sailed this route. A second expedition took place in 2014, and the third is currently under way. The aim of the project is to prove that ocean sailing does not have to be expensive and can be accessible to a wide range of people.

Dobrochna "Brożka" Nowak – sailor, instructor, geographer. Genetically predisposed to sailing. Once a toddler passenger under her mother’s captain’s watch. Today, she is a sea skipper and sailing instructor. She derives the greatest pleasure from passing her knowledge on to others. Described by her trainees as matter-of-fact, and by her friends as a kind and warm person. She spent half of 2011 on a yacht. She fell in love with Mazury, but sometimes has uncontrollable inclinations toward salt water. Despite her numerous trips, she completed a degree in geography with tourism at the Pedagogical University and is studying GIS at Jagiellonian University. Greatest achievement: so far, she has managed to make a living doing what she loves. (source: https://www.zewoceanu.pl)

The meeting is organized by Yacht Club Bolesławiec and Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki.
