The entire proceeds will be allocated to the treatment of Jelenia Góra resident Romek Geftasewicz, a graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Jelenia Góra, who learned after defending his bachelor's thesis at Karkonosze College that he had multiple sclerosis. Thanks to doctors and people of goodwill, he completed studies in journalism and social communication at the University of Wrocław.

The problem is that the increasingly severe symptoms of the disease prevent him from living independently. Multiple sclerosis damages the central nervous system. The patient has problems with visual-motor coordination, maintaining balance and weakened muscles.

Romek wants to undergo an infusion of stem cells into the spinal cord. The procedure is performed at a clinic in India, and its cost – including flights, accommodation, care and an interpreter – is PLN 100,000.

The Bieg Piastów Association decided to support Romek. The proceeds from the ski race and the traditional race, both of which will take place on Saturday, 11 April, will be allocated to Romek's treatment.

The competition will be held along the following route: Polana Jakuszycka (start) – Dolny Dukt – Górny Dukt – Polana Jakuszycka (finish). The entry fee (donation) is at least PLN 50.
