The children from the class taught by Dorota Stanałowska invited a writer to their lesson. Most of the children already knew the fairy tale and had many questions for Grażyna Hanaf. They wanted to know where she got the idea for the fairy tale, whether she had written it for a long time and whether she would write another story.

Together with the children, the author of “Garbuska” played a game involving painting emotions. The children chose colours for love, anger, embarrassment, joy and pride, creating colourful collages on sheets of paper. The first-graders also learned what their names meant. Each character in the fairy tale “Garbuska” has a carefully chosen name. Matylda means strong, Karol means a solid man, and Robert means someone who likes to shine. Therefore, the author prepared a description of each child’s name. She also asked the children whether they liked their names and what they meant.

Earlier, under the guidance of their teacher, the children had painted scenes from the fairy tale, and the drawings became a beautiful class gallery. The meeting with the author ended with “Garbuska stamps” being placed in the children’s notebooks and, using special body ink, on their hands. The author would like to thank the children for their warm welcome in Class I A.
