Officers from the criminal division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, as a result of their actions, detained teenagers suspected of theft, attempted burglary of a kiosk and property damage. The perpetrators are 17-year-old residents of Bolesławiec. City surveillance helped the police detain the minors.
According to the officers’ findings, during the last week of February 2015, the suspects began their evening meeting by stealing alcohol from one of the discount stores. Then, while “walking” around the city and throwing stones for no reason, they damaged the property of random people. They first damaged the door of a service establishment. They also damaged four parked passenger cars. After drinking the stolen alcohol, the hooligans wanted cigarettes, so they decided to break into a kiosk. The losses they caused amounted to several thousand zlotys. The detainees admitted to the acts they were accused of and gave explanations in the case.
Two of the teenagers had previously been recorded as juvenile offenders.
The detainees will now face court for their actions. Under the applicable regulations, the offences of which they are suspected carry a penalty of up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
