Stanisława Harpeniuk comes from the East. She arrived in Bolesławiec after the war, in 1947, when her husband—who worked in the military—was assigned to our city.
Mrs. Stanisława attributes her longevity and good health to a low-stress lifestyle. She never followed a diet, but ate in moderation. Stanisława Harpeniuk is probably the oldest patient at Bolesławiec hospital to have successfully undergone surgery to repair a fractured femoral neck. She was 97 at the time of the operation.
Despite her age, the jubilarian has an extraordinarily cheerful disposition and continues to take an interest in current events. She lives with her daughter and her family.
Stanisława Harpeniuk is not the oldest resident of our city. On June 4 this year, another Bolesławiec resident, Marianna Maj, turned 102.
