The “Jakub” Gallery was established in 2005. Its aim is to promote and sell art. “Bolesławiec, being famous for its sculptural traditions, is a wonderful foundation for developing sensitivity to the beauty hidden in sculpture and painting. I want to begin promoting art precisely in this field,” says the gallery owner, Krzysztof Jakubczyc. The Bolesławiec resident has many plans, but the first step was to organize an exhibition of the exceptionally interesting and intriguing art of Czesław Matyjewicz and Edward Szutter, which is currently being presented at the gallery.

Czesław Matyjewicz is a master of clay sculpture. His creativity and imagination are astonishing. The title of his exhibition is provocative—“Permanent Forms of Gardening.” Edward Szutter is a perfectionist at depicting, through painting, objects forgotten by the world. Thanks to photographic precision, what has been abandoned suddenly becomes something of extraordinary value. “Under the Guise of Everyday Life” is the title of Edward Szutter’s body of work.

The exhibition is on display at the “Jakub” Gallery at 20a Jana Pawła II Street (the parish hall at the church) from Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00, and on Saturdays, 11:00–13:00, through June 13.
