The event is part of an international cooperation programme conducted by Primary School in Łagów and Primary School in Żarska Wieś with Mittelschule Rauschwalde in Goerlitz. For this reason, the review was also attended by students from Germany, who study Polish as a foreign language at school.
This year, the format of the meeting was changed. For the first time, it took the form of a review rather than a competition, as it had previously. This follows from the event’s main idea. Its purpose is not competition, but encouraging students to read foreign literature in the original.
During the review, students from Germany recited texts by Polish authors, while Polish children performed works by German and English writers. It was also an opportunity for the students to test their ability to communicate with their peers in a foreign language.
