The Support Center will, among other things, continue activities carried out under a program financed by the funds of the Municipal Commission for the Prevention and Resolution of Alcohol-Related Problems in Bolesławiec from February to December 2015 by providing:

  • regular long-term individual therapy for victims of violence
  • psychological consultations
  • family mediation and therapy for perpetrators of violence.

The specific objectives of the support center will be:

  • increasing access to individual, specialized assistance for victims of domestic violence and people entangled in violence by providing therapy and specialized counseling
  • building a local coalition of people and institutions to prevent domestic violence
  • supporting cooperation between MOPS and specialists and non-governmental organizations dealing with violence
  • developing the target operating model for the Support Center for People Entangled in Violence, including expanding its activities to cover, among other things, support groups, psychoeducational groups, programs for perpetrators of violence, and psychoeducation on educational approaches for children and young people at risk of violence.

The following people may use the support center’s services:

  • adults experiencing violence who report directly to the Center or are referred by MOPS Bolesławiec, the Commission for the Prevention and Resolution of Alcohol-Related Problems in Bolesławiec, or the Interdisciplinary Team for Counteracting Violence
  • people who have previously used specialists’ counseling and therapy services (as a continuation).

The Support Center for People Entangled in Violence operates at the Catechetical House of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Nicholas at 2 Kościelna Street in Bolesławiec.
