The man – despite the security measures, which we wrote about last October – has climbed the Millennium Cross in Bolesławiec yet again (according to police officers, probably for the sixth or seventh time). And once again, it is the same person.
Police, the fire service, an ambulance and the municipal police are at the scene. The man is unlikely to jump. He wants the return of some item or property. There is no negotiator at the scene.
As usual, a dozen or so onlookers have gathered beneath the cross. New cars keep arriving, with more curious people getting out, but fortunately no one is calling for the desperate man to jump.
After several hours, the 56-year-old man climbed down from the cross on his own. He was taken to a psychiatric hospital.
