The entire incident took place on February 19 in Lubin. A man entered one of the local shops, pulled out an object resembling a firearm and demanded that money be handed over from the cash register. The thief was impatient—he did not wait for the shop assistant and took the cash from the register himself before fleeing.
The man was arrested. He is a 30-year-old from Lubin municipality. He was taken into police custody.
What is more, it turned out that the pistol with which the thief terrorized the shop assistant was… a toy. The man had taken it from a child in his care.
He now faces up to 12 years in prison.
