The accident occurred on Thursday, 26 February, at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Gdańska Street in Bolesławiec. The 84-year-old Bolesławiec resident driving a Volkswagen Polo probably failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions, lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the opposite lane, where he first collided with a BMW driven by a 35-year-old Bolesławiec resident and then—with the Smart head-on. The latter vehicle was driven by a 21-year-old woman from Rakowice Wielkie.
All those involved in the incident were sober. The 84-year-old man was injured in the accident and suffered a broken arm, while the 21-year-old Smart driver suffered spinal and head injuries.
The police are establishing the cause of the accident.
