The incident took place on the night of December 26–27 in a town near Legnica. The fire service received a report of a fire in a sports club’s changing room. The building burned down completely. The losses were estimated at PLN 10,000. An expert determined that the incident was caused by arson.
The perpetrator was detained. The 20-year-old admitted his guilt. He told the officers that… out of boredom, he had aimed a lit match at an opening in the changing-room door.
The detained arsonist now faces up to five years in prison.
