The run, whose aim is to commemorate the last defenders of freedom, who continued fighting on Polish soil even after the end of World War II, is the largest memorial run in Poland. “Tropem Wilczym – Bieg Pamięci Żołnierzy Wyklętych” is also the largest mass event accompanying observances of the National Day of Remembrance of the Cursed Soldiers.

The Freedom and Democracy Foundation, the Bolesławiec Running Club and the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Commando Company “Commando” invite participants on 1 March to the park clearing on Piastów Street, where at 12:00 a run commemorating the Cursed Soldiers will take place.

Participation in the run is free, and every participant who reaches the finish will receive a recovery meal, a commemorative medal and a T-shirt. The participant limit has been set at 200.

The Freedom and Democracy Foundation, organizer of “Tropem Wilczym – Bieg Pamięci Żołnierzy Wyklętych,” was established in 2006. It is an independent non-governmental organization supporting Poles in the East, promoting knowledge of Polish history—with particular emphasis on the Borderlands—and addressing human rights and democracy issues in the territories of the former USSR. The foundation is known for initiatives such as the “Let’s Save the Poles of Donbas” campaign, “Biało-Czerwone ABC” and the “Niepokorni, Niezłomni, Wyklęci” festival dedicated to the Cursed Soldiers.
