On February 15, the duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia received information that an 82-year-old resident of Bogatynia had been attacked and robbed. The 33-year-old man came to the elderly man allegedly wanting to sell him jewelry. When the elderly man let the attacker into the apartment, he struck him several times in the head and knocked him to the floor, then stole the laptop.

Bogatynia police identified a suspect after just a few hours. The 33-year-old was completely surprised by the officers’ visit. He denied having any connection with the case. However, in his apartment, officers found the stolen laptop, worth approximately PLN 2,000.

The laptop was returned to its owner. At the prosecutor’s request, the 33-year-old assailant was placed in temporary custody for two months. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
