This year's grants for the renovation of façades, including the replacement of window and door joinery in the common areas of tenement houses, were awarded to eight homeowners' associations. The associations are located at: Rynek 27, B. Prusa 16/18, B. Prusa 12/13, B. Prusa 10/11, B. Prusa 8/9, B. Prusa 6/7, Kościelna 4/5 and Armii Krajowej 4.
The renovations are being carried out as part of the “Nowa Starówka” programme. The “Nowa Starówka” programme was adopted by the Bolesławiec City Council in 2006. One of its stages is the renovation of the tenement houses around the market square, divided into two parts: renovation of the roof truss and roofing, and renovation of façades, stone details and architectural features, together with the replacement of missing elements. Completion by a homeowners' association of the renovation of the roof truss and roofing is a condition for receiving funding for façade renovation.
A grant for conservation works was awarded to one parish. The Roman Catholic Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Nicholas on Kościelna Street received funding for the project “Protecting the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Nicholas in Bolesławiec from deterioration and making it accessible to European society – a cultural heritage site of high importance for the border region of Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany”.
This year, twenty applications for grants for conservation works on heritage buildings entered in the register of monuments were submitted to the Mayor of Bolesławiec. Some applications were rejected because they failed to meet formal and substantive requirements.
In 2014, grants for the renovation of façades, including the replacement of window and door joinery in the common areas of tenement houses, were awarded to seven homeowners' associations at: Rynek 33/34, Rynek 29/30, Rynek 31/32, Rynek 24/25, Rynek 35, Rynek 26 and Sierpnia '80 1/2. The previous year, two parishes also received grants. The Roman Catholic Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Nicholas on Kościelna Street received funding for the project “Emergency renovation of the roof of the Caritas building on Kościelna Street”. The Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Zamkowy Square received funding for the project “Renovation of the tower, including replacement of galvanized sheet metal with copper”.
