The week begins cinematically... At PozaNova, on the silver screen, we present a work by Czech director Allice Nallis, which is a sentimental journey back to the youth of the generation now in their sixties. Her film, “Hits and Old-timers”, attempts to capture the magic of memories, the charm of that era, music, youthful rebellion and the joy of life. It is a beautiful and moving story about the passage of time. “Hits and Old-timers” features a perfectly chosen cast, an excellent screenplay and superb music. Highly recommended! We are showing it through Wednesday inclusive at 6:31 p.m.. Tickets cost PLN 11.

Tuesday will be devoted to a concert thanks to the Zgorzelec music school. At 5:00 p.m., its next annual carnival concert will begin. During the concert, the school’s students and teachers will present a varied and interesting repertoire, from well-known and popular classical pieces to popular music. We will hear solo instrumentalists and various chamber ensembles.

Among others, four students graduating from the school this year will perform: Karolina Lula, Julitta Bartolewska, Karolina Szymańska and Magdalena Duda. Young teachers who have been working at the school since the current academic year will also be introduced: flautist Agata Żak, saxophonist and vocalist Jadwiga Leśniak, pianist Antoni Bartula, and pianist and composer Dominik Lewicki. The Krzysztof Palmowski band will further raise the atmosphere. The concert will be hosted by Dorota Adaszewska. We recommend it. Admission is free, at 5:00 p.m.!

Theatre is on the agenda on Wednesday. Wrocław Musical Theatre T-ART will give three performances for students from Zgorzelec schools. The first will be at 9:00 a.m.. But please note, so there is no misunderstanding—the performances have been booked, and there is no free admission or ticket sales before the shows.

From Friday, we once again invite you to our PozaNova arthouse cinema. The film “Kebab and Horoscope”, directed by Grzegorz Jaroszuk, is coming to the programme. It is a tragicomedy about how the owner of a carpet shop (Andrzej Zieliński) decides to save his failing business and hire marketing specialists. Unfortunately, instead of professionals, an announcement attracts a pair of con artists using the pseudonyms Kebab (Bartłomiej Topa) and Horoscope (Piotr Żurawski). Their arrival and the hastily implemented “recovery programme” will transform the lives of the company and its employees, initiating a series of unforeseen events in which the leading roles are played by: a shy cashier (Justyna Wasilewska) who shares a flat with her neurotic mother (Dorota Kolak), an accountant looking for love online (Agnieszka Wagner), a gruff doorman (Janusz Michałowski), and an unpredictable electrician (Tomasz Schuchardt) who is more afraid than anything in the world of... high voltage. Polish comedy, Scandinavian atmosphere, Czech humour!!! We invite you all weekend at 6:30 p.m.. But please note, weekend tickets cost PLN 14 and PLN 12.

On Friday, we also invite you to the opening of a new exhibition by young artists from our “Under the Dome” studio. The vernissage begins at 5:00 p.m. in the MDK Gallery. The exhibition will be open until 3 May. Admission is, of course, free!
