There is hardly a week when we do not encourage you to visit our PozaNova cinema. This new week, however, we especially recommend it. On the big silver screen, we are showing Ruben Östlund’s film “Tourist.” Although its premise may sound somewhat terse, the film has a truly profound message. Tomas and Ebba, a wealthy Swedish couple, travel to the Alps with their two children to ski. The sun is shining, the snow-covered ski slopes look impressive, but suddenly an avalanche comes down. Ebba instinctively protects the children, while Tomas grabs his phone and… runs away.
No one was hurt, but can you go on living as before after something like that...? The film has won awards at numerous festivals and was submitted as Sweden’s candidate for an Oscar. Does it sound interesting? Then we invite you. Through Wednesday inclusive, the projectors will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost PLN 11.
That is what is happening on screen—but what about on stage? As last week, something extra is in store. Rehearsals are currently under way, but already on Wednesday... Grandparents’ Day! No, heaven forbid, this is not Groundhog Day! Admittedly, we already celebrated Grandparents’ Day last week—or, in fact, in January—but this time, a celebration of their own, prompted by the holiday for parents of parents, has been prepared by the children and their caregivers from Niepubliczne Przedszkole nr 4 and Prywatna Szkoła Prymus. So we invite grandmothers and grandfathers. Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
On Thursday and Friday, beneath our green dome, a Polish-German educational conference will take place under the title “Bringing Closer Through Interdependence. A Strategy for Cross-Border Cooperation in Education Between Saxony and Lower Silesia.” The conference will begin on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and conclude that day with an artistic programme at around 7:00 p.m. On Friday, the lectures will begin as early as 9:00 a.m., while the conference is scheduled to end in the late afternoon.
And at the end of the week, we invite you to something special... Do you remember that Saturday is 14 February—that is, Valentine’s Day? If you do not yet have plans for Valentine’s evening, come and join us! On the day of lovers, let us treat ourselves to a substantial dose of emotion. From 5:00 p.m., we will read them from the pages of literature. So if you have any favourite poems about love or particularly beloved passages of prose, bring your books along and come. Read them to us. Listen with us as the young people from the theatre group at MDK recite the most beautiful stanzas about love. It will be atmospheric and pleasant—not to say amorous...
