The incident occurred on January 24 during the night. The Lubin police duty officer received information that two young men were spray-painting the façade of one of the buildings in the Przylesie housing estate in Lubin.
By the time the patrol arrived, the vandals were gone. However, the police officers spotted them one street away. When they saw the police car, one of the suspects threw a can of paint onto the lawn.
Both men, Lubin residents aged 24 and 26, had spray-paint cans and gloves with them. They were taken into police custody.
One of them admitted to damaging the façade. The other admitted only to painting the entrance door to the stairwell. An employee of the housing cooperative that owns the buildings initially estimated the damage at one thousand złoty.
Both detainees face up to 5 years in prison.
