The incident occurred on Thursday (22 January). A Renault and a Volkswagen collided near the viaduct, at the intersection of Dolne Młyny and Wróblewski streets. According to the police's preliminary findings, the Renault driver, a 57-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, failed to yield the right of way to the Volkswagen driver (a resident of Zielona Góra). As a result of the accident, the Renault passenger—who was in an advanced stage of pregnancy—was injured. The 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital in serious condition, with multiple injuries. The less seriously injured Renault driver was also taken to hospital. Police are investigating the details of the incident.
