It is hard to believe that these statues, dazzling in their precision, intricacy and colors, resembling Egyptian mummies and Chinese warriors, beautiful and mysterious, are simply ceramics. It is hard to believe that clay can be such a flexible material, offering the artist such enormous possibilities.
The works of Przemysław Lasak, a graduate and, since 1999, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, have received numerous awards. They have been viewed by Belgians, Danes, French and Canadians. Most recently, they were exhibited at the Tamka Gallery in Warsaw. Let us hope that the residents of Bolesławiec will also appreciate “Hope”.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Museum of Ceramics on Mickiewicza Street.
