On 30 December last year at around 9:30 p.m., the driver of a silver Renault Clio failed to stop for a traffic check on Senatorska Street in Legnica. The driver, violating numerous traffic regulations, fled through the streets of Legnica and then left the city towards the village of Jaroszówka. There, driving without the lights on at a speed of over 100 km/h, he veered onto the roadside, forcing a family of three to make an abrupt evasive maneuver.
After several kilometres, officers stopped the fleeing driver. He was a 30-year-old resident of Legnica without a driving licence. The man was taken into police custody. He faces up to three years in prison.
