On January 10—already for the seventh time—the Spacerek z Orkiestrą cross-country race took place in Iwiny. It is one of the stages of the Running Grand Prix of the Copper Basin. The event is associated with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The entry fee was donated in full to the WOŚP collection box.

This year’s edition was a record-breaker, both in terms of the number of participants and the amount raised. The main race was completed by 138 people (compared with 109 last year), and 35 people took part in races for primary and lower-secondary schools. A total of 173 people took part! PLN 1,534 was raised. It is worth recalling that the first edition of Spacerek attracted... 11 runners (most of them also took part in this year’s edition).

The route followed a forest gravel road. The weather was rather unfavorable for the runners. It was fairly warm (10 degrees Celsius), but strong, gusty wind made the task more difficult, as did the rain. However, as old hands say: “There are no bad conditions, only weak characters.”
