Saturday’s gala marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of MKS Bolesłavia was an opportunity to review the club’s activities and sporting achievements to date. The Saturday celebrations began at the Old Theatre with a presentation on the history of the club’s sections. Achievements of the swimming, women’s basketball and volleyball, and athletics sections were discussed. Today, the club operates only an athletics section.
After the historical presentation, decorations were presented to coaches, athletes and people who had made outstanding contributions to the club. Among the coaches, Waldemar Krzysztofiak received the Gold Badge. Ryszard Posacki was honored with the Silver Badge, while Małgorzata and Tomasz Markowski received Bronze Badges. The club’s board also decorated, among others, club official Stanisław Merdas and club friend Jan Kulczycki.
Operating since 1965, Międzyszkolny Klub Sportowy Bolesłavia has trained many athletes who have achieved success in Poland and abroad. Last year, MKS Bolesłavia took third place among sports clubs in Lower Silesia.
