The tragedy occurred on Monday, January 5, on the Zgorzelec-Bogatynia route. At around 5:00 a.m., the driver of an Alfa Romeo lost control of the vehicle, left the road and hit a roadside lamp. The car bounced off the lamp and crashed into a truck parked in a parking lot.
Three people were travelling in the passenger car. The driver died at the scene. Two passengers were taken to hospital.
Investigators are determining the cause of the accident. The man was probably driving too fast.
