The championship in Wolsztyn was attended by 24 county teams from across Poland. Our councillors were defending the championship title they had won the previous year. The Bolesławiec team proved that last year’s title was no fluke. Our footballers won nine matches and only lost to the Łęczyca team 0–2 in the final.

The Bolesławiec County Councillors’ team includes county, city and municipal councillors from the current and previous terms. The team captain is Bolesławiec County Head Krzysztof Konopka, while the team manager is county board member Wiesław Słobodzian. The team also includes Deputy Chairman of the County Council Jan Kozak; former County Council councillor Piotr Hodowany; Bolesławiec Municipal Commune councillors Jan Kozioł and Jarosław Kowalski; Osiecznica Commune councillors Grzegorz Górski and Franciszek Kisielewski; Nowogrodziec Commune councillor Zbigniew Skwarek; and Warta Bolesławiecka Commune councillor Aleksander Wis.

"The Bolesławiec County Councillors’ football team was established in 2003 at the request of the Bolesławiec County Board," says team manager Wiesław Słobodzian. "The purpose of establishing the team was to integrate local-government communities, as well as to foster integration with county residents," Wiesław Słobodzian adds. The team has existed for only two years, yet it has already achieved many successes. The Bolesławiec councillors have won the Lower Silesian Championship title twice, as well as the national championship title. In last year’s finals, they defeated, among others, the teams from Warsaw, Poznań and Wrocław.
