The incident took place on Friday, December 19, in Żarska Wieś (Zgorzelec municipality). At around 7:20 a.m., a 34-year-old resident of Zgorzelec stepped onto the road—directly in front of an approaching truck. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The truck was also driven by a resident of Zgorzelec. He was sober. The police and prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes of the tragedy.
The road is now passable.
