At the Lower Silesian Winter Championships held in Nowa Ruda on December 12–13, which brought together 411 male and female competitors from 44 Lower Silesian clubs, our swimmers won five medals.
Izabela Tkaczyk, who currently has the third-best result in the country in the 100 m individual medley, confirmed that she is among the best female swimmers in Poland by winning silver medals in the 100 m freestyle (1.00.57 min) and 100 m individual medley (1.08.28 min). The athlete coached by Krzysztof Wróbel and Wiktor Łodyga also won two bronze medals: in the 50 m butterfly (30.63 s) and 200 m individual medley (2:30.08 min).
It is worth mentioning that a sports gala was held during the championships, where the best swimmers from Lower Silesia were honored. Izabela Tkaczyk received a letter of congratulations from Zbigniew Dubiel, president of the Lower Silesian Swimming Association, for placing in the top ten of the Top Ten Poland classification in the 2014 season. Along with Iza, head coach Krzysztof Wróbel also received a letter of congratulations.
Returning from the championships with a bronze medal is Klaudia Petters, who improved her personal best in the grueling 800 m event (10:06.27). Klaudia was also just one step away from a medal in the 100 m individual medley (1:10.66 min).
