Young people from Bolesławiec know how to live safely! On 2 December 2014, the regional final of the “Together More Safely” Police Knowledge Competition was held in Kamienna Góra. The event was attended by the best students selected during school qualifying rounds. The competition was organized by 1-10 HP in Kamienna Góra and held in the beautiful setting of the Weaving Museum. Representatives of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław and representatives of the Wrocław Provincial Voluntary Labour Corps headquarters, as well as many other distinguished guests, attended the competition.
Eight three-person teams took part in the competition: two from 1-10 HP in Kamienna Góra, two from 1-6 HP in Jelenia Góra, two from OSiW Mysłakowice and two from 1-3 HP Bolesławiec.
After the written section, both teams from Bolesławiec took the lead. The oral section proved decisive, after which it became clear that the Bolesławiec representatives had retained the lead and taken the two top places on the podium!
Additionally, our representative scored the most points in the written section of the competition, for which she received an additional certificate and prize. Besides valuable prizes, both winning teams received wonderful cups: one for first place, funded by the provincial police commander, and one for second place, funded by the provincial Voluntary Labour Corps commander.
The competition organizers prepared attractions for the participants to make the waiting time before the results more enjoyable. Accompanied by a guide, the young people could visit the Weaving Museum and hear many interesting stories connected with the site. The session with a forensic technician from the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters also aroused great interest. During it, the young people could expand their knowledge of securing evidence at the scene of a crime, accident or burglary.
A huge contribution to the students’ success was made by police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec—Senior Aspirant Beata Łuczkowska and Junior Inspector Adriana Szajwaj. By sharing their knowledge and experience, they prepared the students for the competition professionally and with great commitment. It should be added that young people from Bolesławiec, trained by the police officers, have been taking top places in this competition for several years.
